In The Hundred-Year Marathon, distinguished defense and national security policy advisor Michael Pillsbury asserts that since its founding, the People鈥檚 Republic of China has outwitted the U.S. with the goal of restoring China to its rightful place atop the global hierarchy. Based on work that earned Pillsbury the CIA Director鈥檚 Exceptional Performance Award, the book incorporates interviews with Chinese defectors and newly declassified national security documents to challenge the misguided assumptions in Washington about a gradually reforming China.

On Tuesday, February 3, 华体会 hosted a discussion with Pillsbury, director of Hudson鈥檚 Center on Chinese Strategy, Representative J. Randy Forbes, Chairman of the Congressional China Caucus, and Senior Fellow Husain Haqqani on the implications of a China-led world order and the policy options the U.S. should implement while developing its own competitiveness strategy.
