The Winter Olympic Games in Beijing have trained a spotlight on the Chinese Communist Party鈥檚 (CCP) human rights abuses鈥攆rom the Uyghur genocide to the ongoing crackdown on pro-democracy advocates in Hong Kong. In response, U.S. lawmakers have sought to hold companies that are silent on the CCP鈥檚 human rights abuses, yet have profited from the Olympics, to account. Led by Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers, members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee wrote to corporations in advance of the Games requesting information regarding their involvement and interests in China, as well as their silence regarding human rights abuses. Join Hudson Senior Fellow Nury Turkel for a conversation with Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers on this timely issue.
