Russia鈥檚 invasion of Ukraine and China鈥檚 continued threats against Taiwan highlight the challenges the US military faces from increasingly capable and nuclear-armed opponents. Although Russia鈥檚 difficulty in subduing Ukraine suggests that US and NATO weapons in the hands of motivated soldiers can stop aggression, authoritarian powers like Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are unlikely to give up their goals to overturn the rules-based international order. The Pentagon needs to regain its military-technical advantage against potential aggressors through more effective and realistic strategies and faster modernization, and by harnessing the fruits of commercial technological innovation.

Please join Hudson Senior Fellows Bryan Clark and Dan Patt for a conversation with Representative Seth Moulton regarding the challenges and opportunities facing the US Department of Defense.
