华体会 is delighted to welcome Mihai Pop葯oi, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of the Republic of Moldova. Since 2017, Minister Pop葯oi has served as a leader in Moldova鈥檚 pro-Western party, the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), led by President Maia Sandu. He served first as its vice president and then as the head of its parliamentary group in the Moldovan Parliament. For the past five years, he served as deputy speaker of the parliament.

Minister Pop葯oi has played an important role in facilitating Moldova鈥檚 ever closer relationship with the European Union. He also has deep connections to the United States, having served as an analyst at the US embassy in Moldova in the 2010s before entering politics. Minister Pop葯oi鈥檚 visit to Hudson comes on the eve of the Washington summit, to which President Joe Biden has invited senior representatives from key partner countries around the world, including Moldova.

Senior Fellows Peter Rough and Luke Coffey recently published a policy memo, 鈥How the US Can Beat the Kremlin in Moldova,鈥 following interviews in Chi葯in膬u this spring. Please join Hudson as Senior Fellow Dan Kochis introduces Minister Pop葯oi, who will then sit down with Coffey for a fireside chat about Moldova鈥檚 foreign policy and the Washington summit.
