Announced to great fanfare in mid-December, Japan鈥檚 three new strategic documents鈥攖he National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, and Defense Buildup Program鈥攎ark a turning point in post-war Japanese history. To face Japan鈥檚 greatest strategic challenge鈥攖he cross-domain threat posed by the People鈥檚 Republic of China鈥攖he documents recognize that Japan needs to double defense spending and augment military capabilities significantly. In addition, these documents highlight the need to take additional measures, such as bolstering cybersecurity, information security, and industrial security as the foundation for security transformation.

To examine how Japan can enhance its cybersecurity, information security, and industrial security, please join 华体会 for a conversation with three noted experts: Mihoko Matsubara, chief cybersecurity strategist at NTT Corporation; Lindy Kyzer, director of content at ClearanceJobs.com; and Arthur Herman, senior fellow at 华体会. Walter P. Stern Distinguished Fellow Ken Weinstein will host the event.
