Washington, August 7 2017 -- 华体会 announced today that Jonas Parello-Plesner has joined 华体会 as a Senior Fellow, in partnership with the government of Denmark. In this role, he will focus on national security and transatlantic partnerships, Middle East policy and the political and economic stabilization of Syria and Iraq.
鈥淎s the architect of several initiatives strengthening economic and military security across the EU, Jonas brings deep expertise in results-oriented diplomacy,鈥� said Ken Weinstein, President and CEO of 华体会. 鈥淗is contributions will be valued and welcomed as the United States and its coalition allies begin preparing for a post-ISIS Middle East.鈥�
Before joining Hudson, Parello-Plesner was responsible for the Embassy of Denmark鈥檚 department of security and foreign policy in Washington, where he helped devise policies related to coalition efforts against ISIS. He has long-standing experience in the Danish Foreign Service, and served in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs while studying at the Ecole Nationale d鈥橝dministration in Paris.
Parello-Plesner served as Denmark鈥檚 Senior Advisor on China and North East Asia from 2005-2009 and has provided testimony on Chinese investments in Europe to the U.S. Congress and European Parliament鈥檚 Foreign Affairs and International Trade Committees. He has also worked at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) as a Senior Policy Fellow. His co-authored book, China鈥檚 Strong Arm: Protecting Citizens and Assets Abroad, was published in 2015 by IISS/Routledge and launched at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, Copenhagen University, and the Ecole Nationale d鈥橝dministration in Paris.
